"Yaşamak aynı zamanda yaratmaktır/ bakma varlıkların şişkinliğine/ yaşadığın kadar kâr kalır elde" diyerek, tavrını yaşamdan ve şiirden yana koyan şair şiirleriyle okuyucuları düşle gerçeğin buluştuğu dünyalara sürüklüyor.

All the revenue of Mustafa Çimen’s newly published book, called “A poem is a man, a man is a poet” is subscribed to Umut Foundation. Thanks for his sensitivity.

There is always poem in this life which lies from the warm Çukurova to Yeditepe, from blue rains to those fertile lands covered with orange and lemon trees, from white bubbles beating the coasts to warm Mediterrennean nights, from the juniper, thyme and crocus smelling uplands of Toros Mountains to the northeast wind of Silifke.

Maybe it is because of this, his insistence in “a poem is a man, a man is a poet”. Mustafa Çimen’s desire to write never lasts. He tries to write novels and short stories, he ponders over cinema and painting and he perceives being away from writing as being away from life. It is for this reason that he stands in front of you with a poem called “balance sheet analyses” while coping with balance sheets. While analysing assets and liabilities he comes to the point of whether to stay in life or fall outside of it and he elucidates the problems in his mind with the question of “which profit?”. By saying “to live is to create as well/don’t look at the bulge of the entities/only those what you have lived are the remains” he takes his side beside life and poems.

The poems in the book are result of a selection made among 650 poems which have been written in a long period.

We hope that this book which prepared in order to transfer the revenue to the Umut Foundation and we lay before the reader will contribute to your having a poem.

Days follow nights, nights follow days, follow follow

remains the trace.

deceived is the man, he is tricked

time flies away, time disappears, your beauty remains in time

a poem is a man, a man is a poet...

 men come men go; memoirs are left behind

utterances are used to say

utterances come utterances go, utterances make love

                                      poem is left behind.

A poem is a man, a man is a poet...

when love finishes, gone lovers become sunken continents

some bitter thoughts

thoughts make love, thoughts change;

         the poems rise which do not set

a poem is a man, a man is a poet...

when emotions hurt/call, hope becomes song

love flies to the sky

the city is an angry crowd

every man in the city is separate, alone

a poem is a man, a man is a poet...

suppose that you are in the dark

the night inside you has swollowed your stars

as if the earth is a grave, the sky is a grave

a glint, a spatter grows your hopes

a poem is a man, a man is a poet...

the cuddle of times, all colours to one colour,

is because of their longings.

this is hidden in poems

dream, don’t be afraid of your dreams

         your poem is in your dreams

a poem is a man, a man is a poet...

emotions don’t flow in your river in the same direction

                            emotions come, emotions go.

nobody knows this

man grows with love; poems are born out of love

a poem is a man, a man is a poet...
